about

As an architect that focuses on any and every design challenge, I have been entrusted on projects of variety of scales and scope.  Throughout my academic years I was instilled with a focus for the designed, the innovative and the socially responsible.

At Lawrence Technological University, an accredited architectural university in Southfield Michigan, I earned my Bachelor of Science in Architecture degree.  In May of 2000, I graduated Cum Laude in the top percentile of my class.  At this university, conceptual design along with a firm grasp on construction documents and practices, were emphasized. Throughout my academic career as a student of architecture, I had the privilege of being within a programme which inspired principles of hard work, thoroughness, and an understanding of design and creative disciplines. These disciplines were deeply rooted within studies in the arts, physical and social sciences, technology, economics and law.  Throughout this programme I endeavored for excellence and my achievements often recognized.   Through Lawrence Technological University and due to my academic achievements, I was also given the opportunity to study At the University of Paris and develop a design project.  Due to my scholastic success, I was admitted to Tau Sigma Delta, an Architectural Honor Society.

It is at this time period, during my years at this prestigious programme that I chose to identify with the name of Architectural Volume for my private practice.  It has been rigorously infused in my nature to treat architecture as a space, a place and not just a building envelope.  Although this underlying concept often appears to challenge traditional construction practices it merely respects them more and utilizes them with greater attention.  Simply, it is the intellectual and creative utilization and amalgamation of materials that creates space defined only by the appropriate concept.

My first architectural career opportunities were in the United States and  included Wah Yee and Saranacki & Associates Architects, where I was responsible for a variety of tasks.  I undertook many tasks ranging from project design to project management and even CAD coordination. Being medium sized firms, I was able to excel in the field and learn many of the essentials of the architectural practice.

Directly after graduation I moved to Malta as I earned the opportunity to be a part of a small design team with AOM on the Manoel Island and Tigne project.  This prominent project gave me the opportunity to lead and be part of major aspects including Tigne Plaza, Tigne Plaza Blocks, Tigne foreshore, Tigne Fort Study, Use study at Lazzaretto, and so on.  This experience along with the continuation of architectural studies enabled me to become a warrented architect on the Maltese Islands.

In 2005 I had the opportunity to challenge and advance my creative, construction and detailing skill by undertaking the project of a partial demolition and construction of the award winning resort of San Lawrenz Gozo.  At this project I was given tasks that ranged from carpet design, master planning, interior design, construction detailing, and construction management.  The Exposure from this project then led me to assist a local contractor on several major national projects.

In 2007 a prospect to continue to work on new projects of social and economic magnificence on a continual basis arose and I have been enjoying the challenges entrusted upon me by the Government ever since.

Architectural Volume, my private practice, allows me to challenge myself on a continuous basis allowing my ability to develop as an architect and a designer.  I have vast experience on design projects from Interior detailing, Industrial, Lighting, residential, marketing plans, product, urban, masterplanning, commercial , retail design, construction detailing, construction documentation, finishes and so on.  I continuously invest time and effort in developing my knowledge base in architecture and design including construction methodologies, sustainability and environmental management.  It is envisaged that this constant evolution to my portfolio enables me to strengthen the service I provide to my clients and to the projects I am entrusted with.
